In this tutorial I will show you how you can create a  SiteGround protected URL for your website. If a URL is protected it basically means that you will need a password to get access to the URL.

How to go to the protected URL settings in SiteGround

First you need to go to your Site Tools panel for the website that you want to set a protected URL for in your SiteGround account.

You can go to the security options over in the menu and then you go to the option protected URLs and click on it.

How to so create a protected URL

Now you will see this page and you can select URLs or you can select specific users.
For this case I will select the URL and you see the domain being displayed.

Now you can set a username and you can generate or you can fill in your own password. Then you need to click on Protect.

Now if you visit the URL that you have set the protected URL for, then a pop up will show an in that pop up you need to fill in the username with this password and only if you provide it then you will be able to access the URL.
