Create SiteGround Staging Website In Just a Few Simple Clicks! (Tutorial For Beginners)

It’s very easy to create a SiteGround Staging website for testing. You can do this in just a few clicks.

In this quick tutorial I want to show you how you can create a SiteGround Staging website. A staging copy basically is a copy of your website to use for testing purposes for example.

You can set the staging copy back to the live website in 1 click. Then everything will be live on the website after you are 100% sure everything works fine on the staging site.

Wait for a moment everything is being processed usually it is done within a couple of seconds. It is strongly recommended that you set a password to protect your staging site to prevent visitors from accessing it. Because if you are working on a website for yourself or for a client then you don’t want everybody on the Internet to have access to It. To do that you need to click on the Go to protected URLs button.

To set up a password you need to click over here and there you can set a password over there.

You only have to fill in a username and a password and then click on protect. Now the password will be added so it’s nothing difficult about that. So the staging website is basically a copy of your website. You can make changes over there and use if for testing purposes.

Deploy SiteGround Staging site to live site

After you are completely happy with all the changes you can set the staging site ove the the primary domain for the live website very easily. Therefore, you need to go back to your Site Tools panel in SiteGround. In the left menu you need to go to the WordPress option and select Staging.

Now go to the staging site and click on the three dots. Now you have a few options, you can full deploy and when you do full deploy then the complete website that is now set up in the staging environment will be transferred over to the live website. So all the changes that you’ve done will be visible then for the live website.
