A common question among beginners is how to add a NoFollow to textlink in the Elementor Text Editor.
When you create a text link in the Elementor Text Editor, it defaults to a DoFollow link.
Unfortunately, there is no convenient option to make it a NoFollow link as there is when adding a link to other widgets such as a Button or an Image.
So how should you go about it if you want to turn a text link in the Elementor Text editor into a Nofollow link?
In this video I explain two easy ways you can do that.
The first way is with a handy plugin and the second way is by manually adding a piece of code to the link.
The code is: rel=”nofollow “
Add textlink to Elementor Text editor widget
Let me show you by going to the Elementor text editor. You can see all the text within the blue lines in the Elementor text editor.
If you want to create a textlink you can select a part of the text and after that go to this icon with the paper clip over here and click on it.
Over here you can enter any URL you want to. It can be an URL for your own website, or you can enter a URL for a different website.
So over here I will enter the URL for the homepage of my own website just to give you an example.
Now go to the link options by clicking on this gear icon over here.
Now you can see that over here there’s no option to select the no follow link attribute.
So, the only thing I can select over here is open link in a new tab. But I don’t have the option to make it a nofollow link.
So how can you fix this and add a nofollow attibtute to the text editor in Elementor?
Other Elementor widgets like buttons and images do have this option. To give you an example, if I go to this button, you can see you have also a link field and you can enter any link. Then you can click on the Gear icon and again.
Now now you can see that you do have the option to add nofollow to the link.
Add free plugin to add nofollow to textlink in Elementor
The simplest way to add a nofollow to a textlink in the Elementor editor is by adding a free WordPress plugin. You’ll need to download the all in one SEO plugin from All in one SEO team. The plugin has been installed over 3 million times already so it’s a very popular plugin.
After the plugin is activated you need to go back to the Elementor editor.
If you now add a textlink to the text editor widget and click on the icon to see the options you’ll see that the option to add the nofollow attribute to the textlink is now available.
And if you want to make this link no follow link, the only thing you have to do is select this option and then click on update. And now you can see that the link has been added.
Add code to add nofollow to textlink in Elementor without plugin
In the video tutorial I will also show you another way to add the nofollow attribute to a textlink in the Elementor editor by using a small piece of code. The code is: rel=”nofollow “
